Brisbane’s bicycle user groups and community cycling organisations have come together as ‘Space for Cycling Brisbane’ to ask candidates in the Brisbane City Council election to actively support policy that will ensure it is safe for people of all ages and abilities to walk or ride to their destination.

The Space for Cycling Brisbane campaign is conducting a survey of Brisbane candidates in the forthcoming local government elections regarding their support for bicycle friendly measures in their ward.

There are ten questions, nine are yes or no answers and the tenth question asks candidates to nominate at least one project or initiative that they will actively support to improve cycling in their ward. This will allow us to give candidates a score out of ten for bicycle friendliness.

We will publish the results of the survey as we receive them on our web site:

The survey will close on March 14th, candidates who do not return a survey will get a nil score.

The survey only takes a few minutes to complete and will assist our supporters in evaluating their candidates.
