Election Commitments

Each of the major parties released their bikeway commitments ahead of the March 19 2016 Brisbane City Council election. It is difficult to make direct comparisons when bikeways are bundled with other projects where the primary focus is on public transport, roads, parks or suburban makeovers, but we’ve tried to summarise who promised what in terms of major bikeway projects in this infographic.

And of course, everyone wants to know the bottom line; how much is each party committed to spend on bikeways in total? Again, it’s difficult to make direct comparisons, however this table may offer a useful way to assess and compare each party’s budget commitment.

Note that we’re relying on a number of estimates and assumptions where we don’t have complete data, and we’re aware that some projects are still being announced on a ward by ward basis. We will endeavour to keep you up to date with any further announcements.

The candidates in all wards were asked to respond to our survey. Clicking on each ward will show the results from your candidates.
